PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) Education

At LDSM, we believe that PSHE education is essential to promoting pupils’ well-being. Our PSHE curriculum supports the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils at our school and prepares pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life. Taught in conjunction with the Values system of the school, we believe that PSHE should be embedded throughout the wider curriculum.

Emphasis is placed on the development of:

  • Health and well-being e.g. healthy eating, sex and relationships education and e-safety.
  • Relationships e.g. bullying, managing emotions and asking for help.
  • Living in the wider world e.g. respect for ourselves and for others, our rights and responsibilities as citizens and caring for the environment.

Children are given opportunities to discuss issues which are important to them in a safe and nurturing environment.
