The Paralympic Mosaic Tour

During the Paralympics, an art exhibition was held in Guildford Cathedral to celebrate the contribution made by those with limitations in their lives. A competition was held and the winning entries turned into the final design by Tamesis Mosaics.

As part of the exhibition visitors were invited to lay a tile on a mosaic, helping Tamesis’ members to create the final piece. The mosaic depicts the Paralympic values, athletes and sports that made the games such an inspiring event.

The final mosaic is working its way around churches and schools and we are its current home – and will be for a month. Jay and Annabel are in this picture to give it some sense of scale – it is big!

Please feel free to come into the main entrance hall of our school to see it. You only get the full effect and see all the details when you are up close!
